RETRACTABLE LIFELINES

THREE WAY UNITS
The three-way (RSRL) units are designed for use in confined space systems. They differ from winches in that the cable automatically pays out from the drum as the worker enters the space. There is no crank handle used for cable pay out. If a fall occurs during entry, the centrifugal braking is automatically activated & the cable payout is stopped. The worker may be raised to safety by activating the crank handle. If the worker becomes wedged during rescue, the crank handle is reversed to lower and reposition the individual. Once the retrieval is completed, the crank handle is restored to its de-active mode.

Note: the retrieval function of a three-way unit is only to be used as a rescue tool & not to be used as winch for continuous raising & lowering.

RETRACTABLE SYNTHETIC ROPE LIFELINES
The retractable rope lifelines protect workers from free falls and assures them of a smooth fall arrest while still allowing freedom of movement. The fall protection function of the lifeline is automatic. Constant light tension on the rope, attached to the worker’s harness, keeps the lifeline taut and above the workers waist. In the event of a fall, the inertia brake system is automatically activated to arrest the fall within 2 ft. (.6m) with a force less than 900lbs. (405kg).
